Kim's Birthday Party
We are getting even more excited as our moving date is quickly approaching. My last day at the office at Momeyer was yesterday, Thursday, complete with the last bulletin and newsletter for my dear friends and church family, and this coming Sunday is our last Sunday here. As a matter of fact, by this time next week we should be in Ohio, and at our new home! We have a lot going on this weekend with family and friends, and with it being a holiday, so we both hope that all of you have a great Memorial Day weekend. Look for our next post sometime next week.

Our Last Full Week before we move!
We are drawing nearer and nearer to our big moving day!
For all of you in Calais that are following our blog, we can’t wait to be up there serving and ministering with you all! We send a big Hello!
This weekend brought a few changes relating to our move. The first of which is that we were able to purchase a gas dryer and matching washing machine that Kim and I are very excited about since we will have free natural gas. The other big change was that Kim’s grandma Layton passed away on Sunday afternoon. In many ways, this was an answer to prayer, as she had been suffering of late. The family is sorrowful for the loss and separation, but can rejoice that she is in Heaven now, completely healed and restored! This also is an answer to my prayer that it would happen before we moved, as I knew it would be a great burden on Kim and myself to be starting a new ministry but constantly concerned with her well being. The services are on Tuesday: visitation from 4-6pm and the funeral service to follow (all of which is at Wheeler and Woodlief in Rocky Mount, NC) and graveside service on Wednesday morning at 10am. Please continue to pray for the family that God will bring comfort and peace during this time.
On another note, we were able to fill out our lease agreement and fax that back for our house in Batesville, Ohio! It is a really nice Cape Cod style home with a large backyard.
We will be living almost directly across the street from one of my deacons from Calais Baptist, Cliff.
I don't know who will have to be on better behavior, him or I (lol). We are so excited that this opportunity has opened up and what more could we have asked than to be able to live near someone we feel like we already know (from the 2 candidate trips) , since we will both be hours away from family.
The intensity is growing to make certain that all details are taken care of and that the final stages of packing get completed properly. I know that the church in Calais is ready and excited for us to arrive and get started there too!
I will try to update the blog more frequently as time permits. The next 2 weeks will be very busy!

Outer Banks Trip

Good afternoon everyone!
Kim and I had a fun time on our last trip to the Outer Banks of NC before we make our move to Ohio. The first day was spent mostly cleaning the family cottage and getting it ready for the season, but we were able to relax and enjoy the company of each other and family the remainder of the time.

We walked down the beach and out on the pier

as well as driving on the beach at Corolla! Of course, we did plenty of eating too.
The packing continues here at home. We have run out of boxes for the time being, though we are going to pick more up this afternoon in town. It's as if we live in a maze of boxes for now, but we are very excited that the time is quickly approaching.
I officially resigned yesterday by making an announcement during the morning service. My last day at Momeyer in the office is May 27th, and the last Sunday service we will be in is the 30th of May. We are very excited at what God is allowing us to do for Him, though we will miss our dear friends and family, neither Kim or I would choose to be anywhere except right in the center of God's Will.
We will be packing the moving truck on Wednesday, June 2nd, with the plan to pull out on Thursday, June 3rd, bound for Ohio. Please continue to pray that we get everything packed, see all our friends that we can get together with before we leave, celebrate both Kim's and my father-in-law's birthdays and iron out all the details of housing in Ohio.
I will try to keep my blog updated periodically as we continue to prepare for our move.

The adventure of Transitions

Good morning everyone,
I have started a blog and the first several will be focused on sharing the adventure that my wife, Kim, and I are encountering as we transition from serving here at Momeyer to being the Sr. Pastor at Calais Baptist Church in Calais, Ohio! The picture is of our new church.
We found out last Sunday, Mother's Day, shortly after church let out that the congregation in Ohio had voted to call me as their Pastor. Once a few immediately important phone calls to the family and our current pastor were made, we enjoyed lunch while thoughts of packing ran through our heads. You may be asking yourself why were we thinking of packing so soon? Well, they want me to be there in Ohio the first Sunday in June, which leaves about 4 weeks, and only 3 Sundays for us to complete our move and transition. The house is already filling up with packed boxes, thanks to my excited and industrious wife! My week has also been filled with some training of volunteers to cover some of my duties here at Momeyer.
We leave this evening for what will most likely be our last trip to the beach before we move, tonight. This trip is both work and play, so I will posts some pictures over the weekend to share with everyone.
I will post more as the weeks continue, but for now, I must get back to work!
Please continue to pray for us as we prepare to make this move, both in our place of residency and our place of ministry! Be excited with us as we strive to live out God's will for our lives.
