Our Last Full Week before we move!

We are drawing nearer and nearer to our big moving day!

For all of you in Calais that are following our blog, we can’t wait to be up there serving and ministering with you all!  We send a big Hello!

This weekend brought a few changes relating to our move.  The first of which is that we were able to purchase a gas dryer and matching washing machine that Kim and I are very excited about since we will have free natural gas.  The other big change was that Kim’s grandma Layton passed away on Sunday afternoon.  06c0b157-1da6-4191-b2d3-e7c5b59e8579 In many ways, this was an answer to prayer, as she had been suffering of late.  The family is sorrowful for the loss and separation, but can rejoice that she is in Heaven now, completely healed and restored!  This also is an answer to my prayer that it would happen before we moved, as I knew it would be a great burden on Kim and myself to be starting a new ministry but constantly concerned with her well being.  The services are on Tuesday:  visitation from 4-6pm and the funeral service to follow (all of which is at Wheeler and Woodlief in Rocky Mount, NC) and graveside service on Wednesday morning at 10am.  Please continue to pray for the family that God will bring comfort and peace during this time.

On another note, we were able to fill out our lease agreement and fax that back for our house in Batesville, Ohio!  It is a really nice Cape Cod style home with a large backyard.  untitled untitled2 We will be living almost directly across the street from one of my deacons from Calais Baptist, Cliff.   untitled3

I don't know who will have to be on  better behavior, him or I (lol).  We are so excited that this opportunity has opened up and what more could we have asked than to be able to live near someone we feel like we already know (from the 2 candidate trips) , since we will both be hours away from family.

The intensity is growing to make certain that all details are taken care of and that the final stages of packing get completed properly.  I know that the church in Calais is ready and excited for us to arrive and get started there too!

I will try to update the blog more frequently as time permits.  The next 2 weeks will be very busy!
